I too have been rummaging through Alex Osborn's files and the categories you outlined ring a very familiar bell.

Favorite Quote so far:

"This is a report on a mistake by a group I am addressing on August 21. The national convention of Theta Sigma Phi (women in journalism) has described me as "the originator of brainstorming." I don't know what gave them this impression for we know it isn't true. I have asked them to correct it in any further releases they send out" -Charlie Clark to AFO

AFO's response:
"Re yours of August 7, I don't care who is called "the originator of brainstorming". So don't let that worry you."

I have gone through soooo many files since I started working here that I can't say for sure that I truly have a favorite quote though.

And re yours of November 5, visceral... I can't count how many times I've gotten the chills reading some of this stuff. Nor how many times I've been bursting at the seams with excitement about the creativity movement or a great find.

I actually found the placard that Alex hung on his wall (and CHERISHED!) when he sold 300,000 copies of his book "The Goldmine Between Your Ears" to GM. It is awe inspiring to hold it. I can't even explain how I felt when I found it. But the funny/Alex-esque part about it was- it had such a shabby frame that was really quite drab even to begin with.

I don't even know how to capture the feeling of joy and camaraderie I am feeling now- hearing that people hundreds of miles away are doing the same exhilaratingly tedious task as me.

I have spent full days delving into the files and I LOVE being able to warp back to the pioneer days- it's like I'm in a different world.

I'd love to hear about your progress and talk about more creativity artifact finds. We should talk more sometime. The office number is 508 960 0000 and my email address is sharwick@creativeeducationfoundation.org

Cordially,
SDHStephen Harwickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15833556984702938790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4845175619043426624.post-84384471411962798492010-11-05T14:49:40.902-07:002010-11-05T14:49:40.902-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Stephen Harwickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15833556984702938790noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4845175619043426624.post-89315169062037920952010-11-05T12:36:55.313-07:002010-11-05T12:36:55.313-07:00So Cool! Wow, nice thought. :)

Thanks for posting this for the community.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14180018594898563437noreply@blogger.com
